Made in Saint Petersburg, Reality begins with a simple optical interruption. A transparent surface gathers and distorts fragments of the surrounding world, creating an image within the image whose relation to reality is no longer entirely certain.

The photograph was selected for Magnum Swap Shop, an international project by Magnum Photos and The Print Space, inspired by Magnum photographer David Hurn’s long-standing practice of exchanging prints with other photographers. Following the selection, Reality was exhibited in London as part of the Magnum Swap Shop exhibition.
