Made in the middle of the Red Sea, Children of the World, Egypt originates from an unexpected encounter at sea. During the night, a small fishing boat appeared with two young boys aboard, asking for water.

The photograph retains only a fragment of that encounter. A child’s presence is reduced to a gesture, while the circumstances surrounding it remain largely outside the frame. What appears quiet and almost abstract carries the weight of a reality in which childhood and work can begin to occupy the same space far too early.
