Mexico/New York: Alvarez Bravo, Cartier Bresson, Walker Evans

In 1935, a small exhibition at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York brought together three photographers whose work would define much of twentieth-century visual language: Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Walker Evans. Mexico/New York returns to that moment.

The book gathers photographs made in the years surrounding that exhibition — fifteen by Álvarez Bravo, nine by Cartier-Bresson, eleven by Evans. Seen together, the images form a precise conversation.
