Nude reflects a major part of the professional path of Ivailo Stanev — years of work for the most influential men’s magazines worldwide, the publications that have historically shaped the visual standard for the nude and the erotic. This context forms the foundation, but in this series Stanev reinterprets the tradition through his own sensibility.

The body is portrayed with clarity and ease. Light shapes the form in a way closer to drawing and contemporary painting than to commercial photography. The images are direct yet restrained; carefully structured, but never overplayed.

Here, the nude is approached as part of human presence — a place where vulnerability and strength coexist. Nude returns to a kind of photography in which the body becomes light, line, and space rather than spectacle. The result is a series that stands on classical tradition while quietly reformulating it with maturity and calm.

Ivailo Stanev is a Valencia-based photographer whose career spans over 25 years across fashion, documentary, and art photography.

His work has been commissioned and published by leading international titles, including Esquire, Playboy, Maxim, FHM, and Harper’s Bazaar.

His photographs are held in private collections around the world.
