Photography in book form — selected by Monochrome Hub Gallery for its authorship, significance and place within the medium.
Signed copies, rare editions, out-of-print titles and books we believe are worth returning to.
Photobooks presents a selection of photography books chosen by Monochrome Hub Gallery for their authorship, significance and place within photographic culture. The collection includes signed copies, sought-after editions and titles no longer in print, alongside books selected simply because we consider them worth returning to.
A photobook gives photography a particular form. Editing, sequence, scale, paper and reproduction determine how the work is experienced, allowing a photographic project to exist as a complete object rather than as a succession of individual images.
The selection reflects the photographers, publishers and approaches to the medium that have informed our own understanding of photography. Some titles have historical significance; others represent bodies of work or ways of seeing that we consider important.
Photobooks will continue to grow as we find books we believe deserve a place in the collection.
